BBC Worldwide Interview of the Year

I won the ‘BBC Worldwide Interview of the Year’ award yesterday, at the Magazine Academy Awards. The award was for my chat with Hannah Rankin, which took place in November last year, before Hannah challenged Claressa Shields for her world title.

The interview was published on the back page of The Scotsman and discussed Hannah’s unusual double-career as a professional boxer and classical bassoonist.

I was also ‘Highly Commended’ in the Best Sports Feature category. My submission was a chat with Celtic Super Middleweight Champion, Tommy Philbin, about his boxing career and his struggles with mental health issues.

Radio Times

I recently spent two weeks on a work experience placement with Radio Times, helping their web team. It was a great experience. I got to see a lot of my copy published on the site, gain an insight into how their team works and even interview Peaky Blinders star, Sam Neill.
