International awards spark growth for Sheffield-based Abbeydale brewery

[Note: this is being re-published as part of my NCTJ portfolio submission.) 

A Sheffield-based brewery is expanding after winning five international awards.

New brewing tanks and a new building will increase the amount of beer that Abbeydale Brewery can produce each week.

The brewery, located just off Abbeydale Road, scooped five awards at The Global Beer Competition, formerly known as The Beer Masters. Their double IPA, Deliverance, got gold with the brewery also receiving two silver awards and two bronze.

Our US-UK relationship is still special

I recently had the opportunity to cover the US Air Force flypast over Sheffield and interview local hero, Tony Foulds, as well as a USAF airman. The full article is featured on the website of The American Magazine and will be in their next print issue.

I did my own photography for the feature and am very pleased with how the images have turned out. I’m looking forward to seeing them in print.

Podcasting

In the last few week’s I’ve started hosting and editing the SouthpawJab.com podcast. It’s been great fun but there’s been a learning curve too.

The show features interviews with boxers and promoters as well as reviews and previews of matches, big and small. We always examine a betting angle for the week’s boxing at the end of the show too.

The pod is available through Apple podcasts, Anchor, the Southpaw Jab site and via a variety of other podcast providers.
